Posts on my experiences with using Turo to rent out my cars

In Turo for the first time, I’ve added a Delivery where I’ll deliver the CRV within limits. A past Guest noted Car Location as an improvement area.

Tonight, my CRV was returned to me disgusting. Later, I saw a literal young buck who was definitely out past curfew.

I missed a massage appointment this evening because I was doing too much. I really wanted my neck and shoulders mashed on.

I may not ever feel completely comfortable with a stranger driving away in my car. I like the modest income from Turo, and I trust the problem resolution processes. There’s just a little bit of me that won’t relax about it all.

Last night, I received a late Turo booked for a same day pickup. It’s a one week booking that will get me over the net $500/month I’ve set for the Turo Experiment.

I added two more blocks of time to pickup/drop-off the CRV. Within 30 minutes, I got a new booking for 7 days. Turo bookings coming back to me is against all odds; it’s a chance I’ve gotta take.

This morning, I sent off a Turo guest on trip number 16. In October, I should achieve All-Star Host.

For booking the CRV, I limited the hours a lot more since I started school. I raised the price a lot. Books have slowed way down. I’m ok with it.

I’ve raised the CRV’s daily Turp price to overcompensate myself for guest issues I don’t want to deal with.

I had my first and hopefully last Turo guest that smoked in the car – and left ashes. I’m baffled, but also, I’m taxing them for the egregious violation.

This Turo 1000x better than Uber, Lyft, or delivery driving. Why? It’s better because I don’t have to be in the car to earn money.
