The creative task I repeated for 30 consecutive days isn’t as important as my sense of accomplishment for completing the task.
I set a goal to monetize my YouTube channel @michaelpwright using short form videos. The first of many experiments is to increase my Subscriber count and video view count by posting one YouTube Short every day for 30 days.
Table of contents
I created videos using my running list of amusing statements and unpublished videos I’ve recorded as b-roll or background videos.
The Hard Truths and Facts About Life list is running the show
The playlist of short videos is called Hard Truths and Facts About Life – yes, just like I wrote in the subheading above this paragraph; the redundancy is for SEO purposes. I have fun writing these truths and facts, and you can watch them here or click below. Making them into videos has been educational and very satisfying.
Channel growth highlights
My channel has grown A LOT, and I’ll share the detailed stats in a future article (and video). Here’s a sneek peak of some of the numbers.
As of the screenshot below, 32 Hard Truths are uploaded – numbers 1-31 and number 61. Click the image to view in full resolution.

Channel: Michael P Wright, @michaelpwright
Next?
I’ll post the Hard Truth video series up to number 50 or 100. I’m strongly considering posting twice per day – as suggested by my Social Media Marketing Consultant – until I reach the next milestone number. The Hard Truths’ list is up to 198 truths and facts saved on my iPhone.
To maximize my interest in the creative work, I will change up the series.
I have other themed lists to create videos for, and I haven’t decided on which yet. I’m leaning toward English is Terrible or You’re Just Like Me If.
Monkey Judge 🤌🏾
I’m big everyone getting the joke or reference, so the image below is linked to one of my favorite Saturday Night Live skits starring one of my favorite comedy writers, John Mulaney: Monkey Trial
