Pedal for cash laundromat idea

How cool would it be if you could earn cash to use for washing machines and dryers at a laundromat?

Maybe it might not be as popular with older patrons, but broke college kids would be all over it, I think. Like, “I can wash and dry three loads for like 38 minutes of cardio!”

Maybe there’s something to the cash for cardio concept if it doesn’t make its way to laundromats.

Aside from the benefit of being able to tell your doctor that you do, in fact, get 20 to 30 minutes of cardiovascular fitness 1 to 2 times per week for laundry days, you can pop into the laundromat to add cash to your membership card on days you don’t have laundry. Because why not? Get it in!💪🏾

HOW: A reloadable cash card

In my imagination, you ride a bike connected to a machine that Stores the electrical power generated. The machine accepts your laundromat cash card and loads cash according to your output.

The benefit to the laundromat is that the cost to power their machines and facility is offset by the battery system.

The idea probably sounds silly until you flip the venues to imagine a Fitness Center where cardio machines power a laundry room available for Gym visitors. That would be easy money. I wonder how much power could be generated and stored inside a large Fitness Center. 🤔

It could be a crazy idea, crazy enough to work.

The irony

The irony does not escape me that someone who works out at the laundromat regularly will generate more dirty laundry. But they are still benefiting from regular workouts.

Either gym’s need laundromats or laundromats need bicycles connected to battery systems.
