I’m afraid to do the numbers (I will because I have to) because I think Turo hasn’t been profitable for me this year.
My lesser-priced car started the year with an $1100 milestone service. That s**t is a scam. In the Spring, it got a new battery. The same vehicle finished the Summer needing brake service on all four wheels. By the way, WTF – when did the price of car batteries begin starting at $200.00? Serious question. Are they making them out of diamonds and volcano juice now? Unbelievable. It also needed a windshield replacement that my handy deductible laughed in my direction about. That car owes me so much money.
My higher value, feature-rich vehicle needed new tires – that it received and drove much happier after. It also has ball joints in the suspension I should really schedule and appointment for.
Worth It?
I’m starting to second guess if that Service Guarantee Honda provides is worth these high prices in comparison to doing my own work.
To speak in idioms, something is not adding up. I’m sure my cars no longer pay for themselves. I just don’t want to do the math and see the truth.
Thank you for letting me vent.
