I’m sure your ears will recognize this song called Transformation of Pachelbel’s Canon by Nanae Mimura. But, have you heard it played on the marimba? That’s the song in my head right now. Enjoy this rendition performed by Baku Nakata!

And also, did you know the marimba instrument is called a marimba and not called a xylophone? Did you know that before today?

I watched the video at least 3 times, and I’d love to see what Baku’s brain looks like while playing. I mean if you could attach a device that visualizes brain signals like science fiction movies do, ya know? Playing the marimba ( or any percussion instrument) using 4 beaters with two hands.

That also makes me think about how awesome octopuses and spiders are for operator 8 appendages. Maybe playing the marimba with 8 beaters, both hands, and both feet is the closest a human can get to thinking like an octopus or spider.
