Sometimes, you have to give up on looking for a lost Chapstick and replace it. It won’t be easy, and it’s not meant to be.
Letting go is OK especially when you’ve done your part: checked pockets, checked bathrooms, checked backpacks, etc. You’ve done everything you can to rebuild your relationship with that favorite Chapstick, but the connection is too damaged. It’s time to let go.
I know how hard it is. Trust me. In the beginning, you had high hopes. You walked everywhere together. You were so sure that you and this Chapstick would be together until the tube couldn’t twist up anymore. In this instance, you both just weren’t meant to be, and that’s OK.
If you continue down the path of mourning that lost Chapstick, you won’t be able to enjoy your relationship with the next lip balm. In fact, you may not even see the new opportunity to try a completely new flavor.
Let yourself heal and move on. There’s probably another Chapstick with a low SPF that’s waiting to be a part of your life. Repair your heart, so you can be ready to receive the new stick.
