A24, the film production studio that makes cool movies has some of their screenplays for sale in a stunningly perfect hardcover. I bought Ex Machina, and I think I like owning screenplays now.
Sure, the movie is great. In fact, it’s one of the smartest, most realistic takes on artificial intelligence I’ve ever watched. It feels like watching a story from the Isaac Asimov might’ve told.
I bought the screenplay to deconstruct it too. I want to write one — at least one — before I die. I have some versions of spoof commercials stashed somewhere. Writing them is fun. Not yet a hobby, but fun.
