There was a Fair going right off interstate highway 20/59. The kids and I dropped in Friday on our drive to Huntsville to win a stuffed Harley Quinn and discover my daughter is only tall enough for the Ferris Wheel and kiddie stuff.

Of course, we couldn’t stay long, but we had a solid two hours of fun. Aiden rode his first Freefall-like ride and naturally assumed he was going to be a natural.

When the ride dropped, his face could only be described as a breathless grimace. Maddalyn and I cracked up. Maaan that was hilarious. He got humbled real quick.

In the moment

Stopping at the Fair felt really out of character. We had two hours of driving left before we’d get to Huntsville. I was tired. Stopping for anything more than a restroom break was not in the plan.

We went to the Fair anyway. Because why not? The weather was perfect. We missed the Fair in Huntsville from weeks ago. I could afford it.

So, we dropped-in to a Fair for no reason, and it was fun.
