The length of time I keep any Apple iPhone varies directly with the quality of the case I purchase for the iPhone.
I bought an OtterBox case for my current iPhone — the iPhone 6S. That’s not a joke: it’s April 2021, and I have an iPhone 6S. In short, I don’t believe in replacing good condition, functional electronic things just because the brand manufacturer releases newer versions every 6 months — especially now that smartphones cost the prices of laptops.
That’s stupid.
Where was before the soapbox moment?? Right OtterBox. So now that I’ve strapped an OtterBox case to my ancient Apple iPhone, I’ll be keeping this model until it doesn’t work anymore.
…or until iPhones ship with USB-C ports.
