Family is everything. I worked (military) so I could make time with family a priority.
Periodically, I have to remind myself that I’m the only way the children have access to the rest of their family. I don’t always feel like doing the driving. I don’t always get enough rest before or after. Because I rely on feelings so much in my decision-making, I have to remind myself to do what’s good for them — the kids.
I’ve said this before: I think that our exposure to a close knit family helped me, my siblings, and cousins group up to be decent and good people. We group into adults with a strong convictions.
