This morning, I thought maybe I’m not planning as well as I should for retirement — the second retirement in my 60s.

It occurred to me that I’ve been thinking of the permanent retirement the wrong way. Without a doubt, I don’t want to work for money when I hit age 60. (I’m aware the age I will draw social security is 67.)

In fact, I don’t want to work when I’m 50, but I have to be realistic about that dream. Age 50 for me comes in year 2030, my youngest of two children will only be 15 years old. That means 7 or more years of school potentially.

As of today, I’m thinking of preparing for retirement as preparing to not work anymore.
