Animal Kingdom Thoughts of Existentialism

black jack of all trades by Michael P Wright default

Sometimes, I have some really, really Animal Kingdom thoughts.

Today while swimming in morbid thoughts, I wondered if we put too much effort into separating ourselves from other animals.

Not Superior

I don’t think we’re Superior. In fact, based on our intentional failure to adapt in areas of human relations, natural resources control, and weeding out our weak we are shit.

We have to be generations and generations behind in the way we work as a collective group of animals.

The Thing

Before I get to deep into the rant, I’ll just give my “Dark Thought of the Day:

There are too many of us. There are so many humans that we give ourselves passes to only care about small groups.

There won’t ever be so little numbers of us that we evolve our focus to preserving and advancing ALL OF US.

That’s to say, our numbers will never be culled by our choosing except indirectly by mass wars and/or resource depletion. The other factors that could wipe out or take us down a few notches are natural disasters and disease(which could be considered natural disaster if the source is not manmade).

Suffice it to say, the answer to changing our collective focus from ‘making and taking as much as we can from each other’ to ‘how do we thrive together on this planet’.

Actually didn’t turn out as dark as I expected.
