Perfectionism Strikes in Creating Digital Products

Today, I wrestled with my obsession for perfection*.

These periods of reflection seem to happen more frequently. I’m sure it’s because I have A LOT of content I want to create right now.

One thing that’s taken way too long to put out is a comparison list of audio hosting platforms. I put it together for PodcastingBlogger.com visitors. The data is complete. I’ve just been jumping between Adobe inDesign, Illustrator, and now Adobe Acrobat to design the thing.

Meanwhile, who’s benefiting from all my hours of research collection? No one. Lol

Unbelievable. It’s funny because it’s a very ME thing to do. But it’s also kind of sad. I’ve got this great resource that would save anyone the hours it took me to put it together or longer, but I’m stuck on how it looks.

Here’s a fact: if no one sees what you made, then no one can offer you feedback.

The irony is that I want anything I put out to be perfect, but I won’t know HOW to achieve perfect if it’s never put out there.

*On Perfection: Perfect is a moving finish line. It’s not obtainable. When I use perfect/perfection, I’m describing being a path to achieve either.
