I made a lot of headway on Voices.com today. No, I haven’t booked a gig yet, but I talked with my account manager today.
For 45 minutes, we walked through every section of my profile and demos to optimize the details. In the end, I had info on demo creating and labeling, best descriptors of my voice, honest accents, etc.
It was also good to that the closet studio and the Rode NT1 mic are doing a good job on my sound quality. I really don’t want to spend any more money until I have some coming in.
After all the changes, I went from seeing 20-30 hiring auditions to 130 with a few minutes of us hanging up. It was pretty awesome. Makes it a lot easier to hit my goal of 10 auditions a day.
Having seen the stats tho, it could take 100 auditions before I book a job – which is a little depressing. But with having so many auditions available now, I might set a goal of 20 a day. And why not? I don’t have any other jobs or clients right now.
